Once a year, the motorcycling world descends on Buriram — and the whole province turns into one big paddock.
Buriram has hosted the MotoGP Thailand Grand Prix at Chang International Circuit since 2018, and the race isn't going anywhere: Thailand is confirmed on the MotoGP calendar through 2031. In 2026 Buriram had the honour of opening the world championship season, and it does so again in 2027 — race week runs 25 February to 1 March 2027.
The circuit
Chang International Circuit is Thailand's only FIA Grade 1 racetrack: 4.554 kilometres, 12 turns, designed by Hermann Tilke, with grandstands and hillside viewing for around 100,000 fans. It sits 11.9 km from our front door — about 15 minutes by car on a normal day. On race days, allow considerably longer and arrange transport in advance; our front desk can help.
Book early. Really.
Grand Prix week fills every hotel room in the province — ours included. The moment the calendar is confirmed, lock in your dates. We are Buriram's original hotel, with 62 retro-modern rooms in the town centre, free parking and a breakfast that will get you to the first session on time.
Between sessions
Don't spend the whole weekend at the track. The weekend walking street fills Rom Buri Road with street food and live music on Saturday and Sunday evenings; Khao Kradong's 297 naga steps reward you with a crater-top sunset; and if Buriram United have a home fixture, Chang Arena on matchday is an experience all of its own.
